About Live Notes
Free AI lecture notes for students. No premium tier, no usage limits.
Why this exists
Taking good notes and actually listening to a lecture compete for the same attention. Write fast enough to capture everything and you miss what the professor just said next; listen closely and your notes end up thin. Live Notes exists to remove that trade-off: it records and transcribes as the lecture happens, so you can actually pay attention instead of transcribing by hand.
How it works
Hit record at the start of class. Your microphone audio is captured directly in your browser — nothing to install.
About every 60 seconds, that segment is transcribed automatically, and the running transcript grows below.
An AI model reads the growing transcript and maintains a running set of study notes alongside it — adding new points as they come up, and trimming ones that turn out to be minor or repetitive, so you're left with something worth reviewing later instead of a wall of text.
Everything is saved automatically to your browser as you go, organized by lecture, searchable, and ready to export or print whenever you need it.
Who it's for
Students who'd rather listen than transcribe — in a lecture hall, a seminar, a study group recording a review session, or anywhere else spoken material needs to become written notes.
What it costs
Nothing. There's no premium tier, no usage cap, and no account required to use it.
Frequently asked
Is my audio or my notes stored anywhere?
Your lectures, transcripts, and notes are stored only in your own browser — never uploaded to a server for storage. Audio is sent out only briefly, to generate a transcript, and isn't kept afterward. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Do I need to make an account?
No. There's no sign-up, login, or personal information required anywhere in the app.
What happens if I clear my browser data or switch devices?
Your lectures live only in that browser, so clearing site data or switching devices means they won't be there anymore. Use the Export button in the app to save a backup file you can keep or move to another device.
Which browsers work?
Any modern browser with microphone support — Chrome, Edge, and Firefox are the most consistently tested.
